Hi, I’m Mom… I mean Monica!
I’m the proud wife to a U.S. Army soldier for the last 18 years and counting and yes, you guessed it, a mom. I have seven kids, yes, 7! They range in age from baby to teenager and they are my whole world. While I love being able to stay home with my kids, and I wouldn’t trade the life I have for anything, there have been times when I’ve literally forgotten my own name before.
While I sometimes forget that I have a name other than “Mom,” there are some things I’ll never forget. Like that feeling of dread when they discharged me from the hospital with my first-born. I remember thinking, “That’s it? I can just leave with this tiny human? Where’s the book of instructions?” It’s a feeling that would resurface many times over the first few years. I also clearly remember the first time I felt confidence in place of that dread. That lofty feeling of empowerment was a feeling worth spreading, and that’s why I’m writing this blog.
You see, the confidence came when I started taking charge of my family’s health and wellness. When I began to switch from off-the-shelf and over-the-counter products to all natural products and essential oils, I realized that those midnight cries of “I don’t feel so well!” didn’t scare me anymore. And you know what else? Those cries didn’t happen so frequently anymore either!
It’s been several years since I began making the shift to more natural living in our home, I say “began,” because it’s still very much a process. A process of learning how to think proactively about our health and wellness-“how can I better support my immune system?” – rather than reactively, ” I feel poorly, how do I make it better?” Learning how essential oils fit into our wellness routines has been a huge part of that process.
Yet, when I look up essential oils and kids, everything that comes up is, at best reactive, or at worst confusing and fear-inducing! It’s my passion and mission to inspire, educate and support you in living a more natural life with your kids, so that you, too, can experience the joy of less (or no) fear and more confidence.
